COVID-19 Safety Policy

This document is City Orchard’s “Company’s” policy for assuring the safety of all employees as the Company begins a phased re-opening.  The requirements in this policy are based on the Company’s assessment of its facility, along with the latest recommendations and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Texas Department of State Health Services.  The requirements are subject to modification and change as more information and guidance is issued by the authorities.  

Compliance with the requirements in this policy is a condition of continued employment at the Company.  All employees are expected to review this policy and acknowledge that they have done so and understand it.  If any employee has questions about the policy or any other safety-related issue, he/she should contact City ORchard Management.

The Company’s COVID-19 Safety Policy consists of the following steps and requirements:

  1. Phased Re-Opening

            Employees will be invited back to Company premises based on state and local orders, business need, and the Company’s continuing assessment of the ability of all employees in the facility to comply with this policy.  The facility will operate according to the most recent occupancy guidance provided by the state and local authorities. Any Tours will be suspended until further notice.

 

Cleaning and Disinfecting

            The Company will increase the frequency of all standard cleaning and disinfecting practices and log such cleaning times in the appropriate logs. Additional cleaning and disinfecting protocols as follows:

  • A “sanitary supervisor” shall be designated for each shift to ensure compliance.

  • Disinfecting wipes will be made available, and employees should use them to clean and disinfect any surface they touch that is likely to be touched by others

  • High touch areas will be disinfected every hour (and every 30 minutes if public areas reach 25% capacity) and include door handles, faucets, all bathroom surfaces, locks, handles, etc.

  • Routine cleanings will be documented

  • Hand sanitizer will be placed at all entrances to the facility, on the bar, and on all guest tables

  • Any items that come into direct contact with customers will be disinfected

  • Clean and disinfect the area used by customers (table, etc.) after each group of customers depart, including the disinfecting of tables, chairs and countertops

  • Use contactless payment options – if contactless payment is not possible, sanitize POS screens after each customer’s use.

 

III.      Mandatory 6’ Social Distancing at All Times

             Until further notice, the Company will switch from its community seating model to table seating model and rearrange or remove tables to ensure appropriate social distancing is achieved.  The bar will remain open and a minimum of three (3) seats spacing will be left between customers of different parties. The Company will place readily visible signage at the restaurant to remind employees and customers of best social distancing and hygiene practices.

  1. Health Certifications and Continued Self-Reporting Obligation

            Prior to their initial return to the Company facility, each employee will be required to certify that he/she is not carrying COVID-19 and is symptom-free and complete the Company’s current screening questionnaire. Form is attached as Appendix A. 

In addition, all employees are required to report any subsequent COVID-19 diagnosis or direct contact to City Orchard Management. This self-reporting obligation is necessary to allow the Company to contact-trace and determine whether other Company employees or third parties on Company premises were potentially exposed. 

  1. Health Protocols for Employees

             Employees will adhere to minimum standard health protocols as recommended by the CDC and state and local guidelines:

  • Complete screening questionnaire prior to return to work.

  • Temperature checks prior to every shift.

  • Wash sanitize hands upon entering the restaurant and between interactions with customers.

  • Maintain at least 6 feet separation from other individuals. If such distancing is not feasible, measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation should be rigorously practiced.

          Employees will be sent home if he/she has any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Chills

  • Repeated shaking with chills

  • Muscle pain

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Diarrhea

  • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19

  1. Health Protocols for Customers

            At all times on Company premises, employees and customers must maintain at least six feet of distance between themselves and all other persons.  Specific guidance is as follows:

  • Parties must always maintain at least 6 feet distance apart from other parties

  • Tables shall be placed at least 6 feet apart

  • Only customers from the same party are allowed at each table

  • Maximum of 6 people at any single table

  • Use disposable menus (new for each patron)

  • Do not leave condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or other tabletop items on an unoccupied table

  • Provide condiments only upon request, and in single use (non-reusable) portions

  • Contact upon payment should be minimized. City Orchard shall use Toast contactless payment options when available and possible.

VII.     Hand-Washing and Sanitizing Requirements

            Upon entering Company premises at any time, all persons should wash their hands with soap and/or use hand sanitizer made available by the Company.  Employees should also consider taking these steps after touching common surfaces in the premises. 

VIII.    Respiratory Etiquette
