Some apples are great in a blend.

They bring sweetness, acid, structure, or balance. They help the rest of the cider find its shape.

And then there’s Kingston Black.

This is the apple cider makers talk about with a little extra reverence. Not because it is flashy, but because it is complete. Kingston Black is one of those rare cider apples with enough bitterness, acidity, tannin, and aroma to carry the whole glass on its own.

One Apple, One Cider

Our Kingston Black is a single-varietal cider, which means it is made entirely from one apple. No backup singers. No extra fruit. Just Kingston Black doing what Kingston Black does best.

The result is bright, structured, and beautifully balanced. Finished off-dry, it opens with notes of caramel, citrus, and delicate florals, then settles into a gentle dryness that keeps the finish crisp and clean.

It is complex without being complicated. Refreshing without being simple. A little nerdy in the best possible way.

Kingston Black has earned its reputation as one of the finest cider apples in the world, but it is also notoriously difficult to grow. That is part of what makes this release special. When this apple works, it really works.

Pair it with sharp cheddar, roasted pork, smoked wild game, or mushroom risotto. The acidity cuts through richness, the tannins hold up to savory flavors, and the apple’s natural complexity keeps every sip interesting.

Official Debut Tasting

Kingston Black is now pouring exclusively at the City Orchard taproom, and we’re giving it an official debut tasting.

Join us Friday, August 14 from 7–8PM for a free guided tasting with City Orchard co-founder Patrick behind the bar. He’ll be pouring tastes of Kingston Black, along with a couple of his current favorites on tap.

It is a casual chance to taste the cider, ask questions, and nerd out over one of the world’s most respected cider apples with someone who knows exactly why this apple deserves the spotlight.

Come taste the cider apple that doesn’t need backup.

Real apples. Real cider. From our orchards to your glass.
