Almost seven years ago, three Houstonians with a soft spot for Western New York apples opened a little cidery on Oliver Street. You showed up. You brought friends, birthdays, first dates and trivia teams. You drank a lot of cider. And somewhere along the way, we ran out of room.

So here’s the news: City Orchard is expanding.

Our ciders now pour across Texas, and the tanks on Oliver Street can only hold so much. We’re moving production to the Gulf Coast Distillers complex in Houston’s East End, a facility that gives us room to expand our capabilities as our business grows. More capacity, more room to experiment, and more of the cider you already love.

The ciders aren’t changing. Same cidermakers, same recipes, same roots in Western New York apple country.*

We’re also opening two City Orchard taprooms through partnerships with Tejas Brewery and Giant Texas Distillers:

  • Our flagship taproom at 2101 Summer Street, sharing space with Tejas Brewery

  • Our East End taproom at 5610 Clinton Drive, sharing space with Giant Texas Distillers in their Tasting Room

Each will be a home for the City Orchard experience, bringing our ciders and our community into a shared space with our partners: cider, beer and spirits from independent Houston makers, all under one roof.

“Houston has incredible talent in craft beverages, and we’re excited to bring more of it together under our roofs,” said Carlos de Aldecoa, President and CEO of Gulf Coast Distillers. “Welcoming City Orchard to Tejas Brewery and Giant Texas Distillers gives guests more to discover and all of us more room to grow. We’re passionate about what we make, and so is the City Orchard team. This collaboration builds on that shared passion for great products, Houston hospitality, and giving people a reason to come back.”

And to be clear, City Orchard is still independently owned. These are partnerships, not a sale.

Our final day at 1201 Oliver Street is Sunday, November 22. Between now and then, we want to see you. Come for one more trivia night, one more pint of Harvest Spice, one more Saturday on the patio. Harvest Days Doughnuts on November 14 is our last big Saturday here, so mark the calendar.

We’re planning a grand opening at our flagship taproom at Tejas Brewery on January 15, 2027, our seventh anniversary, to welcome you to our new space. We’ll share hours and celebration details as we lock them in.

In between, you can still find City Orchard at Texas retailers and in our online shop, which ships to 38 states. Holiday gifting is covered.

Thank you for almost seven years on Oliver Street. We can’t wait to raise a glass with you in our new homes.

Cheers, Patrick, Mat, Clay and the City Orchard team

*City Orchard retains full, independent ownership of its brand, ciders, and cider production.
